Are you planning to pursue a master’s or PhD degree in China with government scholarship funding? The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) CSC Scholarship 2027–2028 is an opportunity worth preparing for if your academic interests include international relations, economics, finance, business, law, or public administration.

UIBE’s next Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) High-Level Postgraduate application call is approaching. Although the final 2027–2028 requirements have not yet been confirmed, the previous application guide provides useful information for preparing your academic documents and language evidence.

One important advantage is that UIBE previously accepted an official English-medium-of-instruction certificate as an alternative to IELTS or TOEFL for eligible applicants. However, candidates must verify whether this option remains available in the next scholarship cycle.

Eligibility Requirements for UIBE Scholarships

Master’s Degree Applicants

Under the previous scholarship call, applicants needed a bachelor’s degree and had to be under 35 years of age. Candidates also needed to be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health.

PhD Applicants

Doctoral applicants previously needed a master’s degree and had to be under 40 years old. A relevant academic background and a clear research direction can help demonstrate suitability for doctoral study.

Available Academic Fields

Previous UIBE scholarship programmes included international relations, international development, international law, public administration, international trade, finance, international business, digital economy, logistics, and selected language programmes.

Doctoral options also included business administration, economics, development studies, public policy, and international trade.

Programme availability and teaching languages may change for the 2027–2028 intake. Applicants should select a degree that matches their academic background and appears in the new scholarship announcement.

The previous call also required at least three years of work experience for the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA). Candidates interested in this programme should verify the current experience requirements.

Can You Apply for the UIBE CSC Scholarship Without IELTS?

Yes, potentially. UIBE’s previous scholarship guide accepted alternative English-language evidence for eligible applicants.

English-Taught Programmes

The previous requirements included IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 86. Applicants whose previous degree was taught in English could submit an official medium-of-instruction certificate.

If you intend to use this alternative, contact your previous university and request an official letter confirming that your degree was delivered in English. Check the 2027–2028 notice to confirm whether this option remains accepted.

Chinese-Taught Programmes

The previous guide required HSK Level 5 or above, with at least 180 points, for Chinese-taught programmes.

Language requirements depend on the selected degree. Meeting the language requirement does not automatically guarantee admission or scholarship funding.

UIBE CSC Scholarship Benefits

The previous High-Level Postgraduate Scholarship offered financial support to successful applicants.
