Stefan Banach Scholarship 2025

The Poland Government Stefan Banach Scholarship 2025 is a fully funded program offered to students from selected developing countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at a Polish university. This program is named in honor of Stefan Banach, a prominent Polish mathematician, and is designed to support the academic and professional development of international students.

Applicants from certain countries may also be eligible to study in selected fields of social sciences and humanities. However, philological studies in the applicant’s native language are generally not eligible for support.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Stefan Banach Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Must be a citizen of an eligible developing country.
• Must not hold Polish citizenship or apply for it during the application process.
• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or be in the final year of undergraduate studies. The diploma should have been issued no earlier than 2022.
• Must not already hold a Master’s degree.
• Must meet language proficiency requirements:
  • For programs taught in Polish: Minimum B1 level in Polish.
  • For programs taught in English: Minimum B2 level in English.
• Must be in good physical and mental health, supported by a medical certificate.

If applying for studies in Polish, a one-year preparatory course may be required and is also covered by the scholarship.

The Stefan Banach Scholarship is a fully funded program that includes the following financial benefits:

• Monthly Stipend:
  • PLN 1,700 during the preparatory course (if applicable)
  • PLN 1,500 during the Master’s program
• Tuition Fees:
  • Full exemption from tuition fees at public universities in Poland
• Health Insurance:
  • Access to healthcare services under the Polish National Health Fund
• Accommodation and Travel Support:
  • Limited assistance may be provided, depending on the applicant’s country of origin and the terms set by NAWA

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and upload the following documents in the application portal:

• Completed online application form
• Bachelor’s degree certificate or a statement from the university confirming ongoing final year studies
• Academic transcripts
• Language proficiency certificate (Polish or English, as applicable)
• Motivation letter
• Two letters of recommendation
• Copy of a valid passport
• Medical certificate confirming good health
• Passport-sized photo

All documents must be in English or Polish. Official translations must be provided if the original documents are in another language.
